Greetings,

I’m not sure if I’m not being observant here but it seems like when I put a description for a metapackage it’s not shown anywhere in the Apple Installer install sequence?

Anyone know if it’s shown anywhere or is this one of those reserved for future use features?

Descriptions are only used (AFAIK) in the Customize part of an installer. That means that if you have a metapackage including multiple packages, if you double-click this metapackage:

- its description will never be displayed

- the description of the packages will be visible when you select one of this package in the Customize pane.

If you really want to display this information to the user, you will need to go for a Welcome or ReadMe document.
