Forcing Fresh Install With PackageMaker

  • Subject: Forcing Fresh Install With PackageMaker

Greetings,

I'm modifying a metapackage that installs a few applications as well as some other miscellaneous files in the /Library folder. I am trying to find a way to force Installer to perform a fresh install each time it runs on a machine so that I can ensure that users have the latest version of their unique keys (each package is generated on the fly).

The solution path I'm am trying to take is creating a script at InstallationCheck that deletes the receipts for the 4 packages inside my metapackage. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working because the installer isn't authenticated at the time.

Is there a best practice I can use to ensure the fresh installation of a package each time I run an Installer?

Thanks for your help.
