Your last child package may not be executed if it does not meet a requirement or if Installer.app decided to skip it. If you attach the postflight script to your metapackage, it will always be executed as long as at least one package is installed (or updated).


On the other hand, your solution looks like one of the tricks PackageMaker 3 uses for FLAT packages.
