Hi,
I started working on installers and PackageMaker(PM) for about 3 months during which I found out that there are major changes done to PM3.0.
Yes, You cannot use the tasks written for PM2.0 in PM3.0, mainly if its written with packagemaker commands (terminal commands). Because the commands are totally different from v2.0 to v3.0. PM3.0 gives the build is successful while building the package but doesn't work properly. For this we need to write separate task for PM2.0 and PM3.0, if I am not wrong, as i was unable to use the same task in both versions. This is what I found while working on it.
Got to know the PM3.0 is still not stable. Better to use PM2.0 to build the package. This package installs properly in 10.3, 10.4 and 10.5 AFAIK.
Regards, Damodar.

What is the difference between PackageMaker 2.0 and 3.0.1 versions. I have written ant task which uses PackageMaker 2.0 for packaging my application. I was not able to install my application when i used package maker 3.0.1 with same task. It has shown shown the message 'There is nothing to install'. I compare the diff between these two v
ersions .pkg files, then i found that there are two extra fields in Info.plist IFMajorVersion and IFMinorVersion in 3.0.1 pkg file. After removing these fields, then it worked fine. How can i solve this problem? Thanks in advance -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
