I'd like to "pass some information" to my postinstall by having it read
the package's info.plist file.
For example, rather than hard-code the unique filename where my dynamic
information is passed to the script, I'd like the script to get the
filename from the info.plist file. Then I can do all my per-installer
stuff in just the info.plist, rather than in both places. You know,
avoiding duplicate information and all that.
Is there some kind of command-line tool I can call from a bash script to
parse out the string value of a certain key in a plist file?
I know I could probably write my postinstall script in Python and use a
full-blown xml parser, but I was wondering if there were a simpler way.
