This is my first time posting to the list, so hi everyone.
I'm a sophomore computer science student at U of T putting together an
installer for a developer kit for first year students.
Here's what I'm trying to accomplish:
I'd like to install Python, a series of third party Python packages
(like PIL, pygame, etc.), and a package of my own. Everything that I
would like installed is packaged either into a .mpkg or .pkg. As far
as I can tell the ideal way to install of these in one go is collect
them into a .mpkg that goes through installing all the sub-packages
(stop me if I am wrong, I'm new to this).
I tried both PackageMaker and Iceberg. With PackageMaker 3.0.1 on OS
10.5 I can't even seem to make a metapackage, only distribution
packages which don't allow embedded metapackages. With Iceberg,
despite me putting certain choices as selected they are coming up as
"Skip" (some of them are working) and I am incapable of selecting them
to install.
I'm a bit lost in this and yet it seems like it ought to be rather
straight forward as everything is packaged and working separately.
Thanks in advance!
Chris Maddison
