I’m writing an installer for a Photoshop plugin, and I’d
like to write a PackageMaker plugin that detects all viable host applications
on the system and allows the user to choose which one (or, ideally, ones) in
which to install. The question is, how can a PackageMaker plugin modify the
install path? It seems to be read-only.
Is there any alternative to package installs that anyone is
aware of? I know of Iceberg (which, BTW, is a whole lot nicer than
PackageMaker), but I’d really prefer a to use less-crippled installation
technology than Installer.app. I might end up having to write a whole custom
application to make this happen, though I’d really rather not.
Thanks,
Aaron
