Relative newbie to packagebuilding here. I've been using PackageMaker
under 10.4 for a while, building very simple packages
(Thunderbird/Firefox installs, etc.) to push out over ARD. Nothing very
complex.
I'm now trying to use PackageMaker 3.0 under Leopard, and am about to
pull my hair out. Every time I try to build a package, it crashes...
every. single. time. Any comments there are welcome, but in the
meantime, since joining this list, I'm realizing that I have a LOT to
learn. Anyone have any good links/resources to getting my feet wet on
OS X package building? I don't need anything overly complex yet, but
want to make sure I'm doing things the right way before I get too
comfortable doing anything the "wrong" way.
thanks,
Taylor
ps... if anyone has a clue on why PackageMaker crashes every time... I'm
all ears. I have the following error in the console after the crash:
[0x0-0x3c03c],com,apple.PackageMaker[4609] Warning: Group ID 80
does not match 0 of root volume for "/Usr". Make sure to have disk
permissions repaired with Disk Utlity.
com.apple.launchd[785] ([0x0-0x3c03c].com.apple.PackageMaker[4609])
Exited abnormally: Trace/BPT trap
I've repaired permissions multiple times to no avail.
