Debugging Plugin

I'm getting a segfault from some code, but I have no idea how to debug it using Xcode as its an InstallerPlugin. I've seen some mention to the attach feature, but I have no idea how that might work. Can someone point me in the right direction so I can actually step through some code and find out where my problem resides?
