FileVault and PackageMaker plugins

What is going on with FileVault and PackageMaker [installer] plugins? It appears that any PackageMaker installer with a plugin breaks when FileVault is turned on.

You get the error "Please insert the disc to continue installation" and you can't install.

Does anyone know the history and the future of this?  Thanks, - tz
