Hi Sivasankar,
Someone else will likely give you a better answer,
but... do you know about the files that it places in \Library\Receipts
?
If there is no receipt for the same package, it
considers it an Install. If there is a receipt, then it seems to always
consider it an Upgrade.
I don't know about downgrades. Perhaps if you
have "downgradable" selected in Components, and the package version number is
earlier, then it considers it a downgrade... but I haven't tried it, just
thinking.

Subject: Package up-grade action in
PackageMaker 3.0.3
hi all
I am using PackageMaker 3.0.3. I have created a package and installed..
if i try to install next time it shows "upgrade" in
Action column for choices. where the installer stores that info in
the Machine i.e OS. and how it identifies it whether upgrade or
downgrade or fresh install. i googled but i didn't get answer.
Please any help..
Thanks in advance......
