I believe Installation type pane gets this information from the
IFPkgFlagInstalledSize key in the packages Info.plist. I suppose you could
manually amend this to 8000, but then if the user decided not to install the
zip file, it would still say 8mb anyway (unless the plist can be updated at
runtime).

Subject: Could we customize required space size on installer panel?
Hi, All,
The installer has a panel that is
"Installation Type", it will show a string like " This will take
*** MB of space on your computer." There is some extra logic in my
installer, like install a file that cannot be archived in package, this
file is provided with installer package as a zip format, user can choose to
install this file or not from installer panel( I implement a plugin for this).
The problem is the additional file's size isn't calculated. Assume the
additional zip file is 3M, and my package will cost 5M, the installer
panel will always say it will take 5 MB of space rather than 8MB. My question
is: Is there any flag that I can add the space size shown in
"Installation Type" panel?
Thanks.
