You are being bit by the "relocation" feature/bug. Search this list for "relocation".

Hi,

I'm new to PackageMaker and I seem to be having some difficulty with the install and destination settings in my pmdoc file. The net result is that, even though the installer looks busy, nothing is actually installed.

I've set the Install field to the location of my release build:
	/Users/frankel/svn/tags/foo-0.9.9/osx/lib/dist/Foo.app

I've set the Destination field to:
	/Applications

Running PackageMaker's build, I get 0 errors and 1 warning:
Choice "Foo Postflight" has no subchoices and no package refs.

Running the installer, the Standard Install option informs me that the installation will take 704KB. Yet the .mpkg file is over 42MB.

The Contents panel lists all files I want to package, apparently correctly.

I've set a Postinstall Action to Show File in Finder upon completion. Oddly, it opens the Finder to a previous release build, not the path I've specified in the Destination field!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Scott
