Signed install packages & signing CA certs

We have code signing certificates issued by Thawte and by Verisign. We've found that SL doesn't include the Code Signing CA cert for either Verisign or Thawte. This may also be true on 10.5--this particular problem cropped up around the time SL was coming out, so we were focussing on that. In any case...

The necessary certificate isn't downloaded automatically, and we *really* don't want to have to walk customers through downloading and installing the Code Signing CA stuff. I'd be interested in hearing how other people using signed install packages are making this work.

Are you using some other type of certificate for the signing (other than a code signing certificate), which is signed by a root which *is* installed by default?

Is there a way to include the Verisign/Thawte code signing CA cert with the package?

Any other suggestions?

Kevin
