Hi All,
1. In my dummy component package, I am launching an executable present next my preinstall, what is the recommended/suggested way of accessing present working directory in preinstall scripts ?
`pwd` or
"$PWD" or
"." or
"$0/../"
I saw safari pkg and foun that it is using `pwd`. I hoping that this will work in all platforms and in all forms of package and will not break in future ?
2. For dummy package creation we need to provide a directory to the pacakagemaker commandline --root argument.
Does the directory permissions, owner, group etc. of the dummy directory will have any impact on the destination directory when this component package is run as part of distribution package?
3. How can I restrict the 10.5 format component package's install directory to a specific location, irrespective of distribution package's install directory ?
I want to install a file in the boot volume directory not in the volume selected by the distribution package.
Regards,
-Sra1
