This looks like the usual Finder refresh bug.
If you logout, login, it's quite probable that the version displayed
in the Finder Info window is the correct one.
I'm not sure uninstalling the bundle before installation would solve the issue.
The obvious thing to do is to file a bug report against this to Apple.
As a workaround, the unthinkable is to kill the Finder and relaunch it.
The lazy solution (which is also a good one) is to do nothing and
consider that only a very small percentage of users will check the
version via the Get Info window after installation.
