There's no need for a postinstall script.

1. Create your kext.
2. In the Terminal, change owner to root and set modes.
3. Start a new PackageMaker project.
4. Drag and drop the kext to the Contents pane in PackageMaker.
5. Set bundle ID, version, etc.
6. Build.
Do not adjust owner and modes inside PackageMaker, as it often doesn't stick.
