Hi All,
I am creating a installer package with some preinstall &
postinstall scripts. I want to browse through the package contents
to make sure that all the scripts are copied fine. Earlier there
was a menu item for .pkg file "Show package contents" which was
useful for this. But if I change the target platform of package to
leopard onwards, this menu item is no longer available.
Can anyone help me to figure out how i can see the contents of
a .pkg file now ? thanks for help in advance.
man pkgutil
the --expand command is what you want.
Alternately, Pacifist seems able to look into most flat packages.
Flat package editor can do the trick. It is part of package maker.
Launch package maker and it is an option in one of the menus.
Alternatively you can right click on packagemaker.app and look inside
and did flat package editor in there as an app.
