Of the 50 packages installed, 3 came up with uid 99 and gid 99. The last one of which was the security update 2010-001.
The various installation methods used to build the master images result in various ownership permissions being applied at the time of install; such as, use the current owner:group of the Applications folder. Adobe Creative Suite CS4 unfortunately uses this method. I know I've got some additional repair work to do once I get Applications fixed but I'm looking for a more elegant way to fix than re-running the 10.5.8 combo updater. Wait for 10.5.9? Anyone aware of a 3rd party package which would reset the ownership of Applications and ideally repair the contents w/o breaking anything? Even editing a.receiptdb wouldn't fix 3rd party installed apps would it?
Thank you.
