I've seen DMG Packager
(http://www.skoobysoft.com/utilities/dmgp.html), FreeDMG
(http://www.kelleycomputing.net/freedmg/) and
iDMG(http://www.nscoding.co.uk/)
There are also various tutorials on the web for creating your own dmg
with a background using the command line.
