Subject: validating a pkg's signature before installation?

Has anyone been able to figure out how to get installer to display a pkg file's certificate information?

I would assume it would be with the -query flag, but can't seem to fine one that would work.

Try,  codesign –dvvv filename

Thanks so much

codesign seems to be very unhappy dealing with anything but an .app and what I need to validate is the pkg installer

(what I'm installing isn't an app, so it can't be verified...)
