Are the nibs corrupted in the installed application?
What could be interesting to try is to extract the application using
Pacifist to see if the problem is caused by the installation process
or a corrupted payload.

Everything works so far, only the installer has a very odd behavior. After installation the application doesn't have any menus! Only the main app menu, but this doesn't have any entries. I can't even quit the app normally, only force quit works.
