It's not even clear what is meant by "package name" -- is this the name of the package _file_ the user double-clicked on? This may have been renamed since it was built by the developer/manufacturer. And the file itself is often deleted after installation, so I'm not sure what having that name might buy you.

As far as I am concerned, the packageid _is_ the name of the package.

What is the problem you are trying to solve?
