Hi,
Is it possible to add installer plugins (to add customized screens) in flat packages? Until now we were distributing our product as a bundled package and had written some plug-ins for User Registration. Now with Gatekeeper feature we would need to sign our installer but since it is a bundled package so it cannot be signed. We would be converting our installer to a flat package so would it be possible for us to use the existing plug-ins or do we have to ship our installers without the plug-ins?
The flat format allows including Installer plugins inside distribution starting with Mac OS X 10.6 and later (*).
I don't know how you can achieve this with PackageMaker. Maybe it's possible to do it with the productbuild command line tool. Packages can do it.
* You can use Installer plugins in a bundle distribution embedding flat packages on Mac OS X 10.5 and later but if you need a flat distribution (a requirement to sign a distribution), then the minimum OS version is 10.6 and later.
