What is the target? In your command specify the target after -target flag as shown below.
sudo installer -pkg /path/to/file.pkg -target /
Thanks,
Vikram.

Hi All,
I have created a package using packagemaker. For testing I have SCP
the pkg to remote machine using the SCP command. I could transfer the
Zip file which contains the pkg to remote computer. Using SSH i have
unzipped the file as well. However when i try to install the pkg using
the SSH getting error installer invalid. Any suggestions?
I have used below command to install the pkg
sudo installer -pkg /path/to/file.pkg -target.
Thanks,
Vishnu
