Yes, plenty. I'd recommend working with Stephane Sudre's Packages instead, or scripting the package creation.
I'm a huge fan of Sudre's work but there how do you get the logic (HW/SW checks) into the package? I suppose you can script it, if so what would the commands be to check those requirements?
Operating Systems • Mac OS X 10.5 • Mac OS X 10.6 • Mac OS X 10.7 Recommended Hardware • Macintosh computer with an Intel x86 processor • 512 MB of RAM • 200 MB hard drive space
The other requirements are easy (find/kill process and delete old application).
It's hard to believe the HW/SW checks are such a PITA in PackageMaker 3.0.4...begs the question...did those functions *ever* work? :)
