PackageMaker 3.0.4 is being used on a Mac running 10.6, logged in as local admin user.

Wanted to jump in to make sure the requirements and goals were clearly outlined, hoping the above could be a simple, easy to document and repeatable process.

Seems like there might be some bugs in PackageMaker? :)

Yes, plenty. I'd recommend working with Stephane Sudre's Packages instead, or scripting the package creation.

I'm a huge fan of Sudre's work but there how do you get the logic (HW/SW checks) into the package? I suppose you can script it, if so what would the commands be to check those requirements?

 Operating Systems
 • Mac OS X 10.5
 • Mac OS X 10.6
 • Mac OS X 10.7

 Recommended Hardware
 • Macintosh computer with an Intel x86 processor
 • 512 MB of RAM
 • 200 MB hard drive space

The other requirements are easy (find/kill process and delete old application).

It's hard to believe the HW/SW checks are such a PITA in PackageMaker 3.0.4...begs the question...did those functions *ever* work? :)

Thanks,
Don
