Signing of packages and installation failures.

Hi ALL,

I have a question regarding signing.
I build packages using PackageMaker on Mac OS X 10.6.8. Because productsign tool is not available, I sign packages using PackageMaker's -sign option. I tested packages signed with PackageMaker on SL, L and ML. Everything looked OK. But recently I faced a problem, when installation of a package
on Mac OS X 10.6.8 has failed with the following error:

Sep 7 06:39:10 mac-studiothree Installer[7554]: Failed install preflight:
Error Domain=PKInstallErrorDomain Code=102 UserInfo=0x10035e750
"The package MyPackage.pkg is untrusted."
Underlying Error=(Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-2147409622
UserInfo=0x1171021e0 "The operation couldn't be completed.
CSSMERR_TP_NOT_TRUSTED")

I googled regarding that and figured out - same issue occurs very often with various packages on Mac OS X 10.6.x. But the issue is not 100% reproducible. On some OS installations
it occurs, on others it doesn't.

Could anybody explain, what is the cause of this issue? Is this problem related to signing?
Is there any difference in signing with PackageMaker and productsign tools?

Thanks in advance,
Alexander
