Newbie Packages Questions

Hi,

I am making the long overdue switch from using FileStorm to build our installers to using Packages.

I have a few questions that I didn't find answered in any resources on the web.

Currently, I am building a distribution. As I become familiar with Packages, my distribution is just installing a folder into the Applications folder.

Here are my questions/issues:

1) Pass a parameter to the script? Is there anyway in packages to pass a parameter to a script. I would like my post-install script to open the installed folder or possibly open the read me. Since, I'd like to reuse the script in other installers. I am wondering if there is somewhere in the Packages document that I can specify a parameter to send to the post-install or pre-install script.

2) Warn a user that the target folder already exists and give them a chance to choose whether to cancel or continue?

3) Is there a way for the post-install or pre-install script to get the name and directory of the folder to be installed? (I.e. the payload's target destination).

Thank you,

Edward
