| Ah, that’s it, then. Our background just showed our logo, UNDER the translucent text box. If that’s solid, then the image won’t be seen.

I just noticed that my flat installer packages no longer show the background bitmap as they used to do. It shows up fine while in Packages itself, but when run, there is no background image. Any idea why not? Did Apple remove that feature under Yosemite?
We are using a pair of .png files that we are gluing together as a "resolution independent" .tiff. The only problem we ran into is that with Yosemite they made the text box non-translucent. Our artist had done a nice image with translucency in mind and now it is obscured by the white text box. It might be that Apple removed the option for bitmaps, since they are focused on making multi-resolution systems.

Mostly you are looking for the line: `/usr/bin/tiffutil -cathidpicheck`
