Some additional notes just in case:
- preinstall script with the new flat format are the equivalent of
preflight script: they are always run be it a clean install or an
update).
- make sure the component pkg that only contains a preinstall script
is listed before the product component in the choices list. That's
what determines the order of installation (usually).
