Another approach you may wish to consider is taking a look at the source code from the following project : http://www.lucidsystems.tk/tools/osx/power-management/sleep-disable
Essentially, the items to include are copied to a temporary directory and then the package is build from this directory. It works fine as long as you are not packaging something large.
