Not sure to see the connection between Installer Plugins and
completing the installation process.
If you were Apple, you could use the undocumented features of the
Installation Packages to finish the installation after reboot.
For the common people, post-installation scripts is usually the solution.
If you need a reboot to complete the installation, maybe you are
looking for some kernel extensions or launchd agents/daemons to be
automatically launched. But this can be done in many cases from
post-installation scripts with launchctl and its friends.
