I asked one of the NSL engineers about this and his response was:

He isn't doing any wrong. For some reason slpd is being unresponsive when
we are trying to communicate with it. There was a leak in slpd that was
found and fixed in Jaguar that might be in Puma as well where we were
leaking sockets. Does this still happen after he restarts his machine?
