Hi,

Is there any way to compress a file programatically, using any API's
available on Mac?

Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, System 6 ?

You can use the zlib on 8,9,X.

You can use Stuffit library on Mac OS < X. Not sure about its real availability on X.

On X, you can use gzip with a task.
