Newbie here again, requesting some more help.
Thanks to the help I received on this list last time, and the fact that there is a 'super-high-level' routine for dialup-settings I was able to get the first third of my project done with not too much difficulty.
I wrongfully assumed, that I could look at the code for that function call (MoreSCMakeNewDialupSet) and modify it slightly to make custom API's for setting up our University users for DHCP, (both wired and wireless) and for assigned IP's via ethernet.
Although my programming skills are limited, my friend and coworker is quite skillful. The problem we kept running into was lingo... When we tried to figure out the correct sequence of API calls we couldn't distinguis between a set and a location, and we assume that an entity is a 'configured' port?
There has got to be an easier way to set this up... right? I noticed that MoreSCMakeNewDialupSet calls SetupEntity once it has finished going through all the setups and checks. Is this the only call that I would need (of course setting up bsdport Ethernet or Aiport, and sending it a more complete Digest pointer)? Could I get away with modifying this wonderful ISP API for all three of my needed locations.
Thanks, and please excuse the ignorance.
Juan I. Leon
