When can I use kAFPTagTypeDNS?

For specifying an AFPAlternateAddress, Files.h has enum values for
kAFPTagTypeIP, and kAFPTagTypeIPPort, which are discussed in TN1111,
Programatic Mounting of AppleShare Volumes.

Files.h also has another value, kAFPTagTypeDNS, which sounds quite useful.
However, it is not discussed in TN1111 and the Carbon File Manager
documentation describes what it means, but doesn't say when it became
available.

On what system versions or AppleShare client versions can I use
kAFPTagTypeDNS?

TIA.
