CFSocketConnectToAddress() error code?

How can I get the error code associated with a failed CFSocketConnectToAddress(), if the call was made with a non-negative timeout? errno is sometimes set, for example if the failure was due to ENETUNREACH, but usually it's just EINPROGRESS.
