Under classic you have to use either the old serial driver calls or
serial endpoints in OT. Using something like /dev/cu.modem is Unix
specific.
Serial driver calls don't work under Carbon. I haven't checked whether
OT serial endpoints work in Carbon under 9.

Greetings all,
What's the story concerning an application running under Classic
accessing a modem? Is there any way for a Classic app to read and write
to, say, /dev/cu.modem?
It appears /dev/ is "made up" -- not a real directory -- and as
inaccessible from Classic (or even Carbon apps -- try BBEdit 6.5's
"Open
Hidden" command).
