I seem to be enjoying the same problem. My callback never gets called either. Could anyone send a code snippet that does the thing?

I am SO ashamed! it took me like 5-6 hours, before i figured out i had to do that!
'funny' thing is, i received your mail at the exact same time i was building the code containing the add runloop source :-)

You didn't make any mention of CFSocketCreateRunLoopSource. Did you add the socket's run loop source to your runloop?
