Hi,
I have just finished building PPPLib into my Mac OS X dialer. I have read
every article in the archive that contains the word PPPLib so I don't think
this is a duplicate question...
Has anyone seen situations where a disconnected phone line won't result in a
PPP_ERR_MOD_NODIALTONE error? I have a tester getting PPP_ERR_GEN_ERR, which
I am unable to recreate.
I have however been able to generate a PPP_ERR_MOD_ERROR by dialing a 20
digit number while the phone line is disconnected. Note that if the line is
reconnected the dial succeeds because the first digits of the 20 digit
number are a correct phone number.
I don't set PPP_OPT_DEV_DIALMODE, but "wait for dial tone..." is checked on
my machine in the network/modem preferences and is working. I don't yet know
if it is set on the tester's machine.
Line busy conditions are also supposedly generating PPP_ERR_GEN_ERR on the
tester's machine, but I have not been able to get it to fail myself.
Thanks.
Chris Cooksey.
