PPPoE vs Ethernet IP on OS X?

  • Subject: PPPoE vs Ethernet IP on OS X?

Hi Folks,

On Mac OS X...

If the current network configuration is PPPoE (and it is connected or
not?), is there a way to also communicate using IP on the same interface?
I dont want to do IP over the PPPoE connection, but rather IP on the same
Ethernet interface as PPPoE is connected.

This sounds like it will likely entail setting up routing? If that's the
case are there any examples or directions that I can read/follow for
setting this up.

Thanks,

...Duane

ps.
This is from software, not setting up my machine. Just in case that wasnt
clear. :-)
