If I open a VPN connection over the Build-in Ethernet and also make the PPTP port as the primary interface my connect is still bind to the Build-in Ethernet. Is that a know bug? Any work arounds?

To what address are you trying to connect -- one reachable via the built-in Ethernet, or one reachable via the PPTP port?

Routing *should* be smart and automatic, so that only traffic for the network you're connecting to via PPTP goes through PPTP, while traffic to the rest of the world goes elsewhere -- if that's what's required for traffic to get to the rest of the world. However, that hasn't been my experience of (at least) PPTP this past few days. I have to manually run pppd and use the route command to make everything work the way it should.
