I may be missing something, but in the US, it's not at all common for
the end station to need to support the PPP protocol on ISDN.
In the US, if you're subscribing to a multilink PPP ISDN service, you
typically use an ISDN router which terminates the ISDN and multilink PPP
and provides an Ethernet to the PC/Mac.
The one place where Multilink PPP would need to be implemented on the
PC/Mac is if you're trying to use multiple dialup sessions concurrently.
However, I'd argue that's about 10,000 times more trouble than it's
worth, and one should focus on finding a true broadband service or at
least ISDN.
