Back to the firewall again.
I put in a bug report requesting an API to the firewall. If they did
that, 3rd party software wouldn't have to go in and make changes to the
ipfw rules.
However, people seem to think that it is an invasion of their privacy to
allow software (even with root access) to make changes to their
firewall.

I'm going to file a bug report on this but:
does someone know if there's a plan to correct the following message in
Panther:
"Other firewall software is running on your computer.
To change the Apple firewall settings, turn off the other firewall
software."
when you select the Sharing : Firewall pane?
because this is not necessarily a firewall which is running.
It can be a software like Virtual PC or any software playing with the
ipfw rules to get a divert socket.
