David,
Just as a warning, I fought with OT PAP for many months trying to get it to work as advertised. The problem is that the client side is heavily used and tested. Anyone that prints uses it. But the server side has been minimally tested. I found numerous problems and wished I had just written my own PAP layer. Initially it would drop all connections if one connection closed. We had a front end tool that opened multiple, concurrent PAP connections to one server. When one connection closed, all closed. It also stopped accepting new connections after about 30 connections. That made Adobe certification a real joy :-) So I would just say that you may want to plan on some of your workarounds becoming the final product. This was 3 years ago, so things may have gotten better. But I think Apple devotes pretty minimal resources to fixing PAP problems and so you may have to live with some of it's gotchas.
Good luck,
Jason
