Can someone tell me the pros and cons of using QISA vs. MoreSCF in
trying to write code to set network preferences?
MoreSCF shows how to do all of the System Configuration framework
stuff, but it doesn't show how to handle authorization, or how to
handle network setup from a CFM application (which is only relevant
if you want to deploy the same app to run on 9 and X).
QISA shows the entire process, using MoreSCF at its core.
If I was starting from scratch, I'd probably look at MoreSCF for a
basic understanding of SCF issues and then crib code from QISA to do
the actual work.
Don't forget MoreAuthSample. It's also integrated in QISA, but the
standalone version is somewhat more modern.
Is there a standard Internet Setup Assistant API to do network
configurations without having to write a priviledged helper tool?
No.
