Yeah, after your detailed description (thanks!) it sounds like something weird is happening in the shared IP support between Classic and BSD. I expect that this does, however, work in the general case. Folks do this sort of thing all the time and we've not heard of any problems.

There are a couple of things that you might try.

1. Simply close your endpoint in Classic rather than unbinding it. Doing an unbind is relatively rare (close does an implicit unbind, so most folks just don't bother with the unbind), so it could be triggering the problem.

2. If that doesn't help, try to reproduce this using a trivial application. Write a little SIOUX program that opens the endpoint, binds it, and then unbinds it. If that triggers the problem, it'll give us something small to investigate. If that doesn't trigger the problem, we know that there's a problem that's specific to your application.
