SMB only shows file name length < 12

  • Subject: SMB only shows file name length < 12
  • From: email@hidden
  • Date: Tue, 14 Dec 2004 12:17:52 -0500

When created a folder on the Window 2000 server with a shared folder name
length more then 12 characters, and I choose "Go", "Connect To Server", I
cannot see from the pop menu where the folder name length has more then 12.
Any folder that is shared with name length < 12 will show.

I am using OS 10.3.6 and smb://server-name

Is this a limit on SMB on OS X or this is a limit on the "Go", "Connect To
Server" UI?

Any help is approciated..

Michael Wu
