The "scutil" command does not (with the exception of the ComputerName

configuration. This is not the tool to use to "change an IP address".
Changes to the permanent configuration are managed by the Network pref
pane, by the "networksetup" command available on Mac OS X Server
systems, an by the Jeffrey Frey's "ncutil" command (

<sigh>...you know, it would really be handy if one could do low-level
client
management via the command line. Without installing third party
utilities on
a lot of clients.
It's taken me oh, about a week to finally realize that unless I install
Server on all my boxes, there's no reasonably easy CL way to change
network
configs without third party software.
Feature request...client management from the command line. No really.
You need not file a Radar bug report on this issue. We've already got
a couple of requests :-)
