Don't know, but I would doubt it. One of the OT experts will have to fill in here.

You should be able to do all the work with one endpoint. ICMP endpoints hold no state between packets.

In other respects, ICMP on OT on traditional Mac OS works much like Mac OS X, so Justin's answers with regards getting all ICMP packets, packet loss, etc apply.
